About us
I am Bauke Van den Bossche, a 19-year-old student of Primary Education at Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp. I've been a fan of Taylor Swift since her album 1989 was released, and during the Lover era, I became a true Swiftie. Taylor has been my most played artist on Spotify since 2015, or at least since her music returned to the platform!
On September 13, 2022, the idea to organize Taylor Swift parties just popped into my head. Given that 13 is Taylor's favorite number, it almost felt like a sign. Just four weeks later, we were at the Trix with 1100 people, all coming together to celebrate the release of Taylor's new album Midnights!
From TikTok to Mirror-Ball
I started what is now called Mirror-Ball (formerly Swiftieverse) because I kept seeing all these amazing fan parties on social media from around the world. I really wanted to go to one myself, but they were all in other countries, making it pretty hard to get to. While I was listening to her music, I thought, 'DAMN, how fun would this be at a fan party! Singing this song with a bunch of other Swifties, a dream!' Waiting around for someone else to organize it didn’t sit right with me, so after a totally impulsive thought, I said, 'I’ll make a TikTok proposing a Taylor Swift party in Belgium and see what happens.' That TikTok kind of blew up—within 5 minutes, I had over 500 likes! I thought, yeah, we really have to do this! Four weeks later, Swiftieverse happened at Trix in Antwerp. Within 10 minutes, all 1100 tickets were gone!
Since then, Swiftieverse has evolved into Mirror-Ball, and we continue to bring Swifties together for unforgettable events! ✨🪩
